Minidocs Guide

Write, preview, and export with confidence.

Minidocs is built around one flow: write in Markdown, check the final document live, adjust the output, and export when it is ready.

Getting Started

  1. Create a project from the File menu or the Projects sidebar.
  2. Open or create a Markdown document inside that project.
  3. Write on the left and use the preview on the right to check the final result.
  4. Use Download when the PDF is ready to share.

Slash Commands

Type a command on an empty line in the editor to insert a rich block.

/table
Insert a Markdown table with the number of rows and columns you need.
/math
Add a display math block for formulas and equations.
/image
Add an image from the project assets folder and control its size.
/diagram
Create a Mermaid diagram block with width, caption, and background options.

Preview and Styling

Open Preview Settings to adjust document style without changing the Markdown source. You can tune typography, margins, accent color, preview background, document background, headers, footers, and page numbering.

Use the hex fields when you need an exact color value, such as #F8F3FF.

Slides

Switch the preview from PDF to Slides when the document should become a deck. Keep the content in Markdown, then preview the slide output before sharing.

Images and Assets

Each project has an Images section. Add files there, then insert them into documents with the image command. Keeping assets inside the project makes documents easier to move and maintain.

History

Use History from the editor header to review previous versions. You can compare an earlier draft and restore it when it is the better version.

Storage and Privacy

Minidocs stores projects locally or in the app's iCloud Drive container when iCloud Drive is available. It does not require a Minidocs account and is designed without third-party advertising SDKs or behavioral tracking.
